Jokowi Inaugurated Semanggi Interchange

This is the heart and the most crowded place of Jakarta

President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), inaugurated Semanggi Interchange operation on Thursday (8/17), at 7.18 PM.

"This is the heart and the most crowded place of Jakarta. I really appreciate the work of the previous and current governors," he said, Thursday (8/17).

Semanggi Interchange Needs Additional Traffic Signs

Inauguration was started with inscription signing by Jokowi and continued by pressing a siren button as a sign that Semanggi Interchange is officially operated.  

Jakarta Governor, Djarot Saiful Hidayat explained that fund for construction itself used compensation from building floor coefficient (KLB) amounting to Rp 500 billion from one of private company. In fact, through design and build technology, it only spent Rp 365 billion.

He explained that the remaining construction funds would be used for sidewalk widening on Jl. Sudirman-Thamrin, between 5-10 meters.

"This project runs faster. It is actually slated in September, yet we can inaugurate it now. Starting tonight, it is officially passable," he closed.
